Which are the most effective strategies to address inequalities?

Which are the biggest challenges related to gender equality, and how can the younger generations take a leading role in driving this change?

Gender equality is a fundamental goal for a more equitable and inclusive society, and it remains a core principle in the workplace to ensure that both men and women have access to the same opportunities and rights. In recent years, numerous efforts have been made, and various initiatives have been at the forefront of companies of all sizes. However, despite the progress made over the last few decades, many obstacles remain to be overcome. The gender pay gap, gender stereotypes, and the lack of female representation in leadership roles are just a few of the challenges that women continue to face. A sustained commitment is essential to promote equality and ensure equal opportunities for all, regardless of gender.

But what are the most effective strategies to tackle these inequalities? Education and mentoring, as well as public policies that promote inclusion, can make a significant difference. It is crucial for new generations to be aware of these dynamics and to be actively involved in decision-making processes so that they can contribute to building a fairer society.

The inclusion of young people in international decision-making contexts also plays a crucial role. Engaging youth in advocacy initiatives, as occurs in the contexts of the G7 and G20, not only gives them a voice but also allows for the shaping of the future with an inclusive and innovative perspective.

At the upcoming meeting of TheWaveProgram with Martina Rogato, Founder of ESG BOUTIQUE and expert in sustainability & diversity, and Davide Fanciulli, Co-Chair of the Inclusion & Equal Opportunities working group at Y7 and Assistant Programme Management Officer at the United Nations Director-General's Office in Geneva, we will discuss how to address the challenges related to gender equality and how new generations can take a leading role in this change.
